Other ingredients:
Medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil
Orange flavour

  • Gluten, wheat, salt, sugar, dairy, soya, yeasts, preservatives, artificial flavours and colourants.

Dosage

Directions for use: Adults: 1 drop per day or as directed by your health practitioner.
Never exceed dosage. Take with a meal.

WHAT DOES VITAMIN D3 CONTAIN

Each 1 drop (0.032 ml) of VITAMIN D3 contains the following actives:

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)1000 IU

 

Other ingredients:

Medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil

Orange flavour

 

Contains no animal products. 

Free from: Gluten, wheat, salt, sugar, dairy, soya, yeasts and preservatives.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING VITAMIN D3 

Do not take VITAMIN D3  if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients.  

 

This medicine has not been evaluated by SAHPRA for quality, safety, or intended use. This   medicine is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

TAKING OTHER MEDICINES WITH VITAMIN D3 

Always tell your healthcare provider if you are taking any other medicine.

 

HOW TO TAKE VITAMIN D3 

Do not share medicines prescribed for you with any other person. Always take VITAMIN D3  exactly as described in this leaflet, or as your doctor, healthcare provider has instructed you.  You should check with your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare provider if you are unsure.  

 

Directions for use:  Adults: 1 drop per day or as directed by your health practitioner. 

Never exceed dosage. Take with a meal.

 

This medication may interfere with certain laboratory tests (including cholesterol tests), possibly causing false test results. Make sure laboratory personnel and all your doctors know you use this medicine.

 

IF YOU TAKE MORE VITAMIN D3  THAN YOU SHOULD

In the event of overdosage, consult your doctor, pharmacist.  Should none of these be available, contact the nearest hospital.

 

IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE VITAMIN D3 

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

 

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

VITAMIN D3  may have side effects. 

If you have been diagnosed with hypervitaminosis D, hypercalcemia, malabsorption, heart disease, kidney disease, an electrolyte imbalance,  consult your healthcare professional for advice before use.

Should you be taking any of the following medication, do not take before consulting your healthcare practitioner before use: aluminum, antacids, anticonvulsants, psoriasis medication, blood pressure, weight loss prescribed medication, diuretics, steroids, laxatives.

If any of the following happens, stop using VITAMIN D3  and tell your doctor or go to the casualty department at your nearest hospital:

  • chest pain, feeling short of breath 
  • Diarrhoea, constipation, and stomach pain
  • early signs of vitamin D overdose–weakness, metallic taste in your mouth, weight loss, muscle or bone pain, constipation, nausea, and vomiting.

These are all very serious effects. If you have them, you may have had a serious reaction to VITAMIN D3 . You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalisation.

 

Not all side effects reported for VITAMIN D3  are included in this leaflet.  

Should your general health worsen or if you experience any untoward effects while taking this medicine, please consult your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professional for advice. If you notice any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional.

If you get side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professional.  You can also report side effects to SAHPRA via “6.04 Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting Form”, found online under SAHPRA’s publications: https://www.sahpra.org.za/Publications/Index/8. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of VITAMIN D3.

 

STORAGE AND DISPOSING OF VITAMIN D3 

Store all medicines out of the reach of children.

Store in a cool, dark place, below 25 °C. 

Protect from direct sunlight and heat.

Store in the original packaging.

Keep the bottle tightly closed.

Replace the protective cap after each use.

Do not use after the expiry date stated on the bottle/packaging.

Do not use VITAMIN D3  if you notice visible signs of deterioration.

Do not dispose of unused medicine in drains or sewerage systems (e.g. toilets).
